I'm going to talk about what happened to me as a kid.

So, I was paid ... for a while.... for getting As on my report card. Until it stopped. My sisters were still getting paid, but not me.

I asked what was up with that.

My parents said I was going to make all As whether they paid me or not.

Dammit, I was such a sucker.

In other news, I don't give the kids incentives to learn. I give them incentives to finish their work. Do a Kumon assignment to get iPad time. That sort of thing.
